Portrait of a Pitchfork
There are unseen forces much like gravity
that spread bog throughout the veins of the day.
This flavorless inertia that keeps all fully buttoned.
They are incorporeal, yet heaviest of all.
I sing broken-voiced songs to myself
just beyond earshot of the barn.
A sermon of slanted melody to the painful boredom,
I Twist and Writhe born out of frustration.
Who would paint such pictures?
Why does everyone love to paint nails and hammers?
